Another Evil Presented As Good

ScFy has once again decided that they really want to be the Horror Channel instead of the Science Fiction Channel.  This past Monday they ran a marathon of Ghost Hunters followed by the new show called Ghost Whisperer.  The whole point of the show is to further glorify mediums.  In Deuteronomy 18, Moses explicitly instructs the Israelites to stay away from mediums along with witches and sorcerers.  So making a television show that makes a medium look like they are “good” is in direct opposition to what the God of the Universe tells us.

I am so tired of television shows and movies that glorify everything that God calls evil.  There are shows about “good” witches like the show Charmed or Sabrina The Teenage Witch.  Most shows glorify sex outside of marriage.  There is even a show that glorifies teenage pregnancy.  Then there are the shows that glorify homosexuality.  All of these are considered to be evil to God. 

What really bothers me is the fact the shows like Will and Grace or Friends had some of the best writers, directors, and even actors.  But, Will and Grace helped further the notion that homosexuality is a legitimate alternative lifestyle.  This is not true according to the all knowing God.  The show friends also helped to legitimize homosexuality, casual sex outside of marriage, drunkenness, pregnancy outside of wedlock, and the use of God’s name in vain.

I have seen enough episodes of Charmed to know that it was also well written, directed, and acted.  It is a shame that it is promoting the idea that witchcraft can be good.  The Bible is clear that witchcraft is from the devil not God.  So it can never be good.

The movies are no better with all the Harry Potter movies and all the horror flicks.  Evil is real.  Satan and his demons are real.  God is also real.  Therefore, we need to take seriously the warnings and commands that God has provided to us.  We do not have the power to bind Satan.  He is more powerful than just about everything that God has created.  So he is not something to play around with.  The Bible tells us to avoid evil and to run from temptation.  I strongly suggest that we start heeding these commands.  Don’t watch television shows that promote evil as if it is good.  Don’t go to movies that do the same thing.  Don’t go to movies that take God’s name in vain.  Try reading the Bible instead.  You might actually learn the truth.
